November 16, 2018 – Mindfulness when Supporting Challenging Behaviours

ORANGE, AUSTRALIA

Caregivers, psychologists, counsellors, therapists, teachers and case managers of children with complex trauma often struggle with managing their emotions and actions when responding to behaviours that are upsetting. This workshop will provide in depth exploration of the development of self regulation for across the lifespan who find themselves navigating these struggles every day. This workshop will be a combination of instructional learning, practical experience and interactive problem solving.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

1. Enhance reflective skills allowing for increased awareness of personal triggers related to challenging behaviour.
2. Develop an appreciation of the neurobiology of challenging behaviours
3. Expand repertoire of dialoguing skills and mindful use of scripts that support the decrease of challenging behaviours.
4. Expand self care abilities.
